THE DOCTRINES OF GRACE |

These doctrines are those that testify of "the gospel of the grace of God" (Acts 20:24), and that our forefathers in the Southern Baptist Convention believed and preached with a fervent conviction because they were not ashamed of this gospel, knowing that "it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth" (Romans 1:16). But lamentably, throughout the years these glorious truths have been forgotten by the great majority that profess to be Southern Baptists, or rejected by the lovers of the so-called idol of "the free will of man". I rejoice that there is a Revival and a Reformation amongst the Southern Baptists with respect to the Doctrines of Grace, and that many are asking "for the old paths" (Jeremiah 6:16) of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. For sure, this is the only one (because there is none other - Galatians 1:7), that can give rest to the soul, and from which "with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation" (Isaiah 12:3). All praise and honor be to Him, who reigns from the heavens; "for of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen" (Romans 11:36). Therefore, my prayer is that "the God of all grace" (1 Peter 5:10) will be pleased to bless the contents of this page to the glory of His great Name, and the edification of His saints, and the salvation of sinners; and that also His people will be strengthened to "strive together for the faith of the gospel" (Philippians 1:27), for the purpose of the following..... It is with sadness that I add the artticles contained herein. I know that "the gospel of the grace of God" (Acts 20 :24), with its Doctrines of Grace, have always been opposed by proud and carnal men because they make sinful man nothing, but "the God of all grace" (1 Peter 5:10) EVERYTHING! But what makes it worse is that this opposition comes from within the Southern Baptist Convention, moreso since Southern Baptists have their roots in the Doctrines of Grace. The Philadelphia Confession of Faith, the New Hampshire Confession of 1833, the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message (although somewhat vague); and even the Abstract of Principles still used in Southern and Southeastern Baptist theological seminaries\ are "Calvinistic" (another name by which the Doctrines of Grace are referred to). Therefore, it is a contradiction for Southern Baptists to oppose these glorious doctrines.Sadly, though, although we can say that there is a "reformation" taking place within Southern Baptists (and this is proven by the opposition to it), yet we have to say that there is also an "apostasy" taking place within the SBC. THIS IS VERY EVIDENT TODAY!!! Nevertheless, may these articles help you to see what is happening. By the way, I obtained them from the Founders website (http://www.founders.org/). Click here
